#Briefcase file not enough memory to open how to#
Have to spend as much time figuring out how to recover their files.
I thought I would reply to my own post so that if someone ever has the same problem, they won't Well, I did not find a direct solution to this problem, but I found two ways to bypass it since the problem probably lies in the software, and not the hardware. P.S.: I know it won't change anything, but i really feel like exposing this damn error. Long story short: can't open my briefcase folder because of a "lack" of memory. The fact is, the problem is (in my opinion, although I am not an expert) is the software, not the devices.
#Briefcase file not enough memory to open Pc#
My PC is a HP Pavillon e9127c, running Windows 7 Ultimate, 8GB of RAM, yadi yadi yada. In fact, it does it so well that I'm experiencing the same error onĪll my devices now. I know it's an old technology but it helps me sync all my files between my three devices (PC, laptop and tablet PC) and it did that just fine. Now, I never had any issue with Briefcase. I don't know if it could be related, but that's my wild guess. The thing I think might have "triggered" the error, is that I made a copy of a folder (~5MB) inside the Briefcase, and since then, I can't access it anymore. I cannot afford to lose what's in that Briefcase. That's all my university right there, in that folder, and this is my last year. (Need any other spec? Let me know.) There is no way I don't have enough RAM to open the Briefcase.Īlthough, I have to mention, it's a fairly big one around 7.6GB. It's a 圆4-based PC with an Intel i7-3517U, 4GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.
I have a ASUS UX31A, running Windows 7 Version SP1 Build 7601. I also ran the Windows Memory Diagnostic: no errors found and the Disk Cleanup: no change. Shut Down, crossing my fingers and hoping it'll work this time, but, again, it didn't. So I thought: " Well, maybe if I clear the memory I'll restart my laptop." Which, you may have guessed, did not work. So, I followed the advice I closed all files and programs I had open, and tried to access it again. Quit someįiles or programs, and then try again." Note that there is no error code. Every time I try to open it in Windows Explorer, it tells me " There is not enough memory to open the Briefcase database. I'm having a major problem with a Briefcase folder: I can't open it.
